Titanic Town

Set in Northern Ireland in the early '70s, Titanic Town tells the story of a Catholic housewife who is sick of the violence in her Belfast housing estate and becomes a spokesperson for the Women for Peace movement. Although her neighbours are also terrified by the violence, most of them view her crusade as a betrayal of the Irish nationalist cause. Her children are ostracized and she herself receives death threats before her media exposure prompts both the IRA and English politicians to court her as an ally.
