A young married couple are in South America, where the husband is working on a dam. He gets kidnapped, which results in a Kidnap-and-Ransom specialist flying in to negotiate the release. However the company is no longer able to pay the ransom. The negotiator decides to keep on with the project anyway, as he is attracted to the young wife...

Ian Douglas: In some ways this is an action version of ''Casablanca'', complete with airport scene. It did not do well in the US, being overshadowed by the real-life breakup of the two stars. Crowe is at home in action roles, while Ryan repeats her pretty blonde rom-com roles.
