Charlotte Gray


The titular Charlotte was a young Scottish woman, fluent in French, recruited in 1942 by the British government for undercover operations in France. She was initially reluctant, but, after her boyfriend was shot down over France, agreed to go along, in the hope of rescuing him. She soon became an active member of the French Resistance, but her romantic ideals were confused by her attraction to the leader of her cell...
