The Syrian Bride

This award-winning movie takes a look at the silly situation in the Golan Heights, captured from Syria by Israel. The people there are called Druze. Our heroine, the victim of an arranged marriage, wants to leave the Israeli side to go and get married in Syria. However the guards have to implement policies which do not recognise the other country's rights, and so the Syrians won't let her in, and the Israelis won't take her back. While she tries to sort out the mess, her political-prisoner father is in danger of being rearrested.
