The Citizen
Sabrina Dean quote iconThere is nothing specifically wrong with this romantic comedy-drama. But it's not particularly awe-inspiring either.
10
Sunday Times
Barry Ronge quote iconIt's like a film with bipolar disorder, and that's not an easy thing to enjoy.
5
24.com
Annel Malan quote iconIt's like a very long episode of Friends but without the jokes, stylish clothing, good acting, or... ad breaks.
1
BBC

10
Box Office
Mark Keizer quote iconCo-star Kevin Smith ray of light, but can't brighten Gray day
8
eye Weekly
Jason Anderson quote iconThe movie mostly seems glib and incoherent, eventually deteriorating into a disconnected series of sentimental moments and broad comedic hijinks.

Rolling Stone
Peter Travers quote iconA romance that wants to respect the mess of love and loss but winds up smoothing all its rough edges with a Hollywood pumice stone.
10
ScreenIt
quote iconThere are moments that are funny, touching and even moving. But they exist within a pedestrian script that feels like it's been assembled from any number of predecessors and thus doesn't seem terribly interesting or feel that novel.
