Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Star Wars: The Clone Wars
This computer-animated cartoon fills in more of the back story of the Star Wars saga. Made as a trailer/pilot for the upcoming TV series, it is set timewise in the first 'prequel' trilogy. Jabba the Hut's young child has been kidnapped, and with both the government forces and the outlaws keen to rescue the child, the scene is set for large-scale battles between the Jedi knights and the clone armies. Reviewers have complained about the quality of the animation.

Roger Ebert quote iconThe familiar Star Wars logo and the pulse-pounding John Williams score now lift the curtain on a deadening film that cuts corners on its animation and slumbers through a plot that (a) makes us feel like we've seen it all before, and (b) makes us wish we hadn't.

James Berardinelli quote iconThe Clone Wars is the last nail in a coffin that has been propped up ever since George Lucas sold his creative soul in the quest for a few more pieces of gold.
