Sara Maria Cizcarrondo quote iconBut only critics may love Clooney's prestige-y, technically competent, well cast drama-and Oscar voters might agree. It's prestige-y, technically competent and lousy with the sex appeal of a phenomenal cast. Medicore as it is, it's at least a conversation piece that's polite enough not to come out on an election year.

Chicago Sunday Times
Roger Ebert quote iconClooney the director brings his actor's experience to the job and attends closely to performance. The impression remains, however, that he believes this movie to be more of an expose than it is.

ScreenIt
C. Fuchs quote iconThe fact that it isn't novel or a particularly upbeat or positive look at politics might turn off some viewers. For me, the latter is what makes it an important film, while the efforts of all of those involved makes it an artistic success.
