Mr. Pip
Set in Papua New Guinea, where a civil war is raging. All the foreigners leave, except a bachelor school teacher. He begins reading Dickens' Great Expectations to his class, and a young girl becomes transfixed by the story, imagining her self in it. When she writes Pip's name in the sand, a misunderstanding puts them all in grave danger.
