The gifted Ian Holme (Chariots of Fire) portrays Joe Gould with so much pizzazz that you feel as if you have known the bearded enigma your whole life.Joe, who claims to converse with seagulls, is an unkept, cantankerous old coot, who is prone to bursts of rage and joy. He hustles literary friends, coffee shop owners and basically anyone he meets for ''contributions''. These contributions are for his ever-lasting project that he's been working on for the past twenty-six years.
