It is there that the young music professor falls for an ''angel of mercy'' -- his nurse, Megan Denright. After his release from the hospital and before he resumes his journey, he is invited to the Denright home for dinner. Here he meets Megan's younger sister, Dominique.
The two sisters see Gerard as an escape from their small town life -- he's on his way to Seattle and they soon convince him to take them along.
On the isolated Mid-Western back roads, dark secrets follow the trio.
