This is the story of an elderly philanderer, who needs money to buy a car to transport his cello around. He agrees to marry a Russian woman for money, so that he can buy a car. Unfortunately she absconds as soon as she is married, to be with her lover in Germany. Then he finds out that her 5 year old son was part of the deal, and he now has to play daddy to the kid, even though neither can speak the other's language. Naturally they have a beneficial effect on each other's lives...
The film is set in Prague before the overthrow of communism.
Czech and Russian with English subtitles.
105 minutes.
