Earth tells of the 1947 Partition of India as seen through the eyes of a child, an eight-year-old Parsee girl forced by polio to wear a leg brace. Her beautiful nanny draws suitors like a magnet: Sikh, Muslim, and Hindu. With Partition comes open warfare between these sects in the city of Lahore.
