Ian Douglas: As other reviewers have noted, this film somehow reminds one of ''The Perfect Storm'', even though it is very different. Much like in ''Storm'', there is lots of spectacular action, but somehow, you don't end up bawling when one of the characters dies. So although the climbing action is gripping and literally breathtaking (and you sit there wondering how they faked it), the emotional impact is somehow missing. What does come through strongly though is the intense morality prevalent amongst climbers, where the survival of the group outways the survival of the few. Literally life and death decisions, taking in a moment. Scary stuff. The film is escapist fare marred by serious plot holes and diminished emotional impact (compared to, for example, U-571), but nevertheless worth viewing for the climbing sequences and stunts.

Aman Jumna 20: One would think that professional climbers, in the context of the movie that is, would not fall as much as they did. It really became too predictable.
