The Quiet American
Can I take you home?...
This film is set in Saigon, 1952, during a time of conflict between the French colonists, the rising communists, and assorted national and international players. A world-weary British journalist is enjoying the easy life with his Vietnamese mistress, when a young American doctor arrives. He seems pleasant enough, but as time goes by, a darker agenda begins to emerge. To complicate matters, he takes an interest in the same Vietnamese woman, with the advantage of not being married...|
