The Libertine


This film takes a look at the short life of the second Earl of Rochester, who rose to prominence after being pardoned by the new King Charles II. He was a famous poet, playwright, and womaniser. Inbetween dealing with the the various women in his life, his attitudes to sex had a serious reality check when he fell in love with one of his mistresses. Unfortunately his shocking lifestyle was shortlived, as he contracted syphilis.
