Nils van der Linden quote iconStill can't quite match the no-nonsense excitement and breathless pace of the unexpectedly accomplished original film

The Citizen
Annette Bayne quote iconResident Evil fans may enjoy this latest instalment from a gamers' point of view but there are times when a joystick console would have saved it from becoming dull.
12
24.com
Ivan Sadler quote iconThere can't possibly be an audience for something this dull and predictable, can there?
1
BBC
Paul Arendt quote iconThe Resident Evil console games are standard setters in the survival horror genre, so it's a pity (though not exactly a shock) that the resulting movies are so stale.
5
eye Weekly
Adam Nayman quote iconThe multiplicity of Jovovichs makes for the film’s one memorable image. The rest is all chunky CGI gore, hilariously solemn exposition, and limp genre references.
5
ScreenIt
quote icon With no one to care about, and the action and bloodletting becoming repetitive, this quickly becomes a bore, causing one to wish it would suffer the same fate as many a zombie within it, and thus hopefully put an end to this lackluster franchise.
