Speed Racer

From the creators of 'The Matrix' trilogy comes a world built for speed.

Speed Racer
A young man with a talent for racing is doing well in the family racing business. He is still haunted by the memory of his older brother, who died in a notorious race called ''The Crucible.'' After turning down an offer from a rich businessman, he learns that powerful people are fixing some races. He feels the only way to beat these people is to win The Crucible, so he teams up with his mysterious masked rival to do just that. The film is based on a Japanese Anime television series from the 1970s. Expect your senses to be assailed by an overdose of colour and music.

Adam Nayman quote iconThe presentation is so assaultive that it dulls any appreciation for the work that went into achieving it. Speed Racer wears you down to the nub.

James Berardinelli quote iconSpeed Racer passes the barrier between 21st century innovation and psychedelic diarrhea long before the cars have come close to the finish line.

Peter Travers quote iconAs in The Matrix, the Wachowskis create a simulated reality with style and vision. But this time the machines win. Speed Racer feels untouched by human hands.
