What the Critics say
|Cape Argus / The Star|
Nils van der Linden Fast and furious? More like formulaic and forgettable.
Peter Feldman Sharp edits and outstanding stunt work keep the story flowing and though an attempt is made to develop the characters and their relationships, the stiffness of the acting, especially from an emotionless Diesel, remains a telling factor in the credibility department.
John P. McCarthy While the choicest parts come early on, there’s enough left over to help ensure the movie will make a ton of dough.
|Chicago Sunday Times|
Roger Ebert Fast & Furious is exactly and precisely what you'd expect. Nothing more, unfortunately. You get your cars that are fast and your characters that are furious. You should. They know how to make these movies by now.
C. Fuchs The decent to over-edited and over-directed car race & chase sequences are surrounded by increasingly boring drama and melodrama.
Tomatometer While Fast and Furious features the requisite action and stunts, the filmmakers have failed to provide a competent story or compelling characters.
