The End Begins

Terminator Salvation
Arnie's not back, but the characters are. Set back in the past when John Connor was a young man, this film follows their battles against Skynet. A newcomer, a convicted murderer, is keen to meet John, but John and his friends become suspicious of the killer when they discover something about him. As the decisive battle with the Skynet forces looms closer, John must contend with the murderer, as well as rescue his own future father from a Skynet camp, before the battle actually breaks out.

Chicago Sunday Times
Roger Ebert quote iconAnyway, most of the running time is occupied by action sequences, chase sequences, motorcycle sequences, plow-truck sequences, helicopter sequences, fighter-plane sequences, towering android sequences and fistfights. It gives you all the pleasure of a video game without the bother of having to play it.

eye Weekly
Adam Nayman quote iconIt’s frankly boring to watch John Connor (Christian Bale) stalking around dusty landscapes, bellowing into communication devices about how to best win the war against the machines, etc.
5
Rolling Stone
Peter Travers quote iconEven with a rusty script, T4 still manages to blend action and feeling.

C. Fuchs quote iconAs a summer popcorn action pic, it's fairly entertaining, which may just make it a hit.

Tomatometer quote iconWith storytelling as robotic as the film's iconic villains, Terminator Salvation offers plenty of great effects but lacks the heart of the original films.
