The Book of Eli

Some will kill to have it. He will kill to protect it.

The Book of Eli
This old-time futuristic western is set in America, thirty years after most of the people had been wiped out. A lone man is travelling across America, carrying with him the last remaining copy of the King James bible. He arrives in a small town, and in true Western style immediately falls foul of the local bigshot baddie. Things get complicated when baddie's daughter decides to hang around with the stranger, leading to the showdown where she and him have to battle off dad and his disposable henchmen.

Tomatometer quote icon It's certainly uneven, and many viewers will find that its reach exceeds its grasp, but The Book of Eli finds the Hughes brothers injecting some fresh stylish fun into the kind of post-apocalyptic wasteland filmgoers have seen more than enough of lately.
