Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore

Just like real spies... only furrier.

Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore
It took Hollywood nine years to roll out this sequel, and most critics were disappointed with the result. Following on from the first movie, with new characters and some old ones dropped, this is your typical James Bond story: a megalomanical cat is trying to turn cats and dogs against their human masters, so a group of dogs, cats and a pigeon band together to put a stop to the scheme. For kids only. This film is releasing in both 2D and 3D, this is the 2D version.

82 minutes.

Will Sloan quote iconSince the characters never become anything more than archetypes — and since the human plot with Chris O’Donnell is so laughably abbreviated — the story is impossible to become invested in, even on its own terms. Still, the film isn’t a total loss: where else will you have a chance to hear the regal voice of Roger Moore deliver, in booming stereo, a line about butt-sniffing?
2
ScreenIt
T. Durgin quote iconThe sequel is not a total wash. The overall concept is still a good one.
