What the Critics say
|Chicago Sunday Times|
Roger Ebert Sanctum tells the story of a terrifying adventure in an incompetent way. Some of it is exciting, the ending is involving, and all of it is a poster child for the horrors of 3-D used badly.
James Berardinelli A suspenseful 90-plus minutes whose smattering of deficiencies are outweighed by its positive qualities which include, on balance, its 3-D.
Peter Travers The movie ultimately reveals itself as a pretender with no balls. Creatively, it's all wet.
Tomatometer Sanctum is beautifully photographed, and it makes better use of 3-D technology than most, but that doesn't make up for its ham-handed script and lifeless cast.
