Killer Elite

May the Best Man Live

Killer Elite
Based on a shocking true story, the latest Statham vehicle pits two of the world's most elite operatives, an ex-special ops agent and his longtime mentor, against the cunning leader of a secret military society. Covering the globe from Australia to Paris, London and the Middle East, they are plunged into a highly dangerous game of cat and mouse, where the predators become the prey. The plot is a bit convoluted but involves a retired special forces soldier who has to kill three other similary-trained soldiers in order to secure the release of his mentor. However there is a secret organisation to protect against just such attacks, and so we have a range of elite killers all trying to kill each other. Jason Bourne would enjoy.

Box Office
Sara Maria Vizcarrondo quote iconYou would think an action film starring Jason Statham, Clive Owen and Robert De Niro would be a slamdunk: that they're so good at their jobs they can transform lame dialogue into convincing bromides or dominate scenes with a charisma weak direction can't drag down. Perhaps that's expecting the impossible.

ScreenIt
C. Fuchs quote iconIf you're somewhat of a newbie to action flicks and the physical work of Statham, the film might seem exciting to one degree or another. For those of us who've sat through countless such offerings, it simply doesn't possess any quality to make it stand out from the crowd.
