Anna Karenina

An epic story of love

Anna Karenina
The latest film version of Tolstoy's classic novel is also much decorated. The love triangle unfolds in its original late-19th-century Russia high-society setting, although much of the action takes place on a stage, signifying Anna's artificial world. It powerfully explores the capacity for love that surges through the human heart, from the passion between adulterers to the bond between a mother and her children. As Anna questions her happiness, change comes to her family, friends, and community.

C. Fuchs quote icon It's not awful or bad. It's just boring in terms of plot and features a protagonist who rightly reaps what she sows and isn't likeable in the slightest.
