What the Critics say
Ilan Preskovsky It may be far from perfect but between its assured filmmaking, interesting subtext and (mostly) excellent performances, it's hard not to recommend it. You don't necessarily have to rush out to see it but it's certainly worth a look in when you get the chance.
Tomatometer The Exception (The Kaiser’s Last Kiss) elegantly blends well-dressed period romance and war drama into a solidly crafted story further elevated by Christopher Plummer’s excellent work and the efforts of a talented supporting cast.
Staff evaluation Strong sexuality in WWII-set drama/thriller.
