CommentsThe film contains scenes which could affect people suffering from Pattern and Photo Sensitivity.
The action adventure comedy Deadpool 2 explores themes of superheroes, friendship, love, grief, teamwork, revenge, mutants, rescue, family, belonging, rejection, self-pity, crime fighting, good versus evil, forgiveness and love, presented in an action superhero film. These themes are complex and mature and may be confusing to cognitively immature children under the age of 16 years. There is a sense of threat and menace, as presented by villains, criminal elements and frequent killings, and although the impact is mitigated by comedy, the humour is of a dark and adult nature, including sexual jokes, which may prematurely expose children under the age of 16 years to adult experiences. Emotionally immature children may also be upset, distressed, disturbed and psychologically harmed by the gory nature of some of the violence in the film. Morally immature children, who have not yet formed independent moral values and abstract cognitive abilities, may also be morally harmed, for example through the frequent displays of strong impact violence and language, which appears normalised. However, viewers of 16 years and older should be cognitively developed enough to appreciate the humour, and pro-social considerations of good overcoming evil, regaining the will to live after loss, and messages promoting forgiveness, and gender and racial equality, in addition to the positive resolution.

Ilan Preskovsky quote iconThe best and worst thing you could say about Deadpool 2 is that is just more of the same. If you've seen the first film you know largely what to expect. The sequel does have some nice, often darkly comedic plot twists to it it and a number of new characters thrown in.
