Elizabeth

Elizabeth Elizabeth I -- Queen of Englan, was a very modern woman. The daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, she possessed an independent spirit and an iron will. Proclaimed Queen of England in 1558, one of her great achievements was that she lived to die naturally in an age when many of her contemporaries met untimely deaths.

She ruled in a male-dominated age and was quick to learn how inevitably and dangerously the forces of betrayal and conspiracy would constantly test her both as a woman and as a monarch.

Against this historical backdrop is woven the story of ELIZABETH, a historical thriller which focuses on her life as a princess and the uncertain beginning of her reign as Queen.

Betrayal and revenge, intrigue and power, sex and violence -- all woven into a brilliant tapestry against the background of Renaissance England in an unforgettable motion picture.
