Successful, egotistic Doug Menford (Denis Leary) is long on charm, but short on class. To him, women are nothing more than sex objects, good for a night and nothing more. Nicknamed DAWG by his college pals, Doug's world is turned upside down when he meets Anna Lockheart (Elizabeth Hurley), who teaches the Old Dog a lesson he'll never forget.Anna is a gorgeous but tough-as-nails attorney, and the executor of Doug's grandmother's will. She informs him that he's the sole heir of her million-dollar estate. Before he inherits the money, however, he must track down a significant number of the women he's betrayed, and with Anna as his witness, convince them to pardon his past indescretions... with wildly unexpected results!
One by one, Doug revisits his ex-lovers. Once the bad boy sees the pain his pleasure has caused, he starts to show genuine regret and begins to change his cheating ways. Anna, meanwhile, learns to lighten up and enjoy life.
