Larry Brodsky is the proprietor of a secondhand bookshop on a canal in the heart of Amsterdam. He meets a young American girl named Aisha, who wanders into his bookshop. Aisha throws a dinner party, when Larry arrives at the party expecting dinner, he ends up getting everything he had ever wanted in ways that this unreconstructed hippy could never have imagined.
