In the vein of The Royal Tenenbaums and Ghost World, the painfully shy son (Brody) of an eccentric family dreams of enlarging his horizons with the help of his ventriloquist dummy. Aided by his punk rocker best friend (Jovovich) and alternately tormented and supported by his wacky sister (Douglas), he makes romantic overtures to a beautiful employment counselor with comically touching results.
