Glen Ballard, best known as a music producer for the likes of Alanis Morisette and Aerosmith, wrote this gritty film about a number of young musicians struggling to make it in Los Angeles. Newcomer Jimmy Tuckett shines as the lead singer of a rock group whose path to success is obscured by uncaring club owners, drugs, jealousy, and lots of groupies. Lori Petty is equally as impressive as the band's resident troublemaker, ingesting drugs and swilling booze so prodigiously that she seems bent on getting the most out of her stint in a rock band.
