A fast-paced and dangerous thriller in the style of THE NAME OF THE ROSE and FROM HELL.DAY OF WRATH tells the story of Ruy de Mendoza, the rugged and honest sheriff of a XVI century Spanish provincial city, who discovers a series of brutal and perplexing murders of high ranking nobles. These prominent people and their body-guards are slaughtered with unusual violence, large letters are gruesomely carved on their chest with a knife.
Before our hero can confirm with the widows the identity of the victims, the butchered bodies vanish without a trace and the crime scenes are cleaned spotless. To add to his surprise, everyone in the village pretends the murders have not even occured.
