On a Spring Break road trip to Daytona Beach, Florida, two groups of college kids take a detour through an old time southern town.Led by Mayor Buckman (Robert Englund) and Granny Boone (Lin Shaye), the friendly locals of Pleasant Valley insist the kids stay the night for the town’s annual barbecue to celebrate the glory days of the Dixie.
Inspired by their own college studies of the Civil War in US history class, the kids readily accept the invititation. Little do they realise that instead of getting a taste of the old south, the old south will get a taste of them!
