Lake PlacidAfter a mysterious attack in a quiet lake, a team of investigators descend on the area and do the usual find-the-monster things. There is also an old woman living near the lake who has a dark secret or two. Expect a curious mix of comedy and terror. Don't believe the poster, that scene is not in the movie.92 minutes, No persons under 10 (Language, Violence). Comedy, Horror, Thriller.

Ian Douglas: I'm starting to think that David Kelley should stick to television. After seeing two of his movies (this one and Mystery, Alaska), it's kinda sad that someone with his creative mind should resort to hackneyed movie themes. This film is basically Jaws-with-legs, with plenty of TV-sitcom style sarcasm thrown in. It doesn't really work on the big screen, making the characters come across as simply unpleasant. There are a few tense moments and plenty of red herrings, but the film never gets anywhere close to competing with Jaws.
Pate Jones (19): The way the movie is set out is extremely good.
Christine Burtenshaw (17): One of the best films I've seen this year. Scary and funny all at the same time. A real winner!
