WALL-E

An Adventure Beyond the Ordinar-E

WALL-E
Pixar's latest highly-rated animated treat is set 700 years into the future, after all humans have abandoned Earth due to it being overrun by rubbish. There is still one lonely robot left, WALL-E, a trash collector, who spends his days compacting and sorting the mess. One day, another robot, EVE, arrives, to see if Earth is ready for resettlement yet. The two robots are soon in love, but when the newcomer finds a solitary plant, she snaps it up and heads back to her mother ship. WALL-E sneaks a ride back as well, and soon is busy trying to save the plant while also dealing with the ship's captain. And then there's the little matter of his unfinished romance...

Roger Ebert quote iconPixar’s WALL-E succeeds at being three things at once: an enthralling animated film, a visual wonderment and a decent science-fiction story.

Adam Nayman quote iconPixar, after all, is also in the mass-pacification business. But once again, they do it so remarkably well: with visual and narrative economy despite their boundless resources; with maturity despite their all-ages mandate; with palpable humanity despite a cast mostly comprised of computer-generated automotons.
