With big city dreams, Frank Muzzy and his best friend Eddie need one big break so they can escape and find fortune in Las Vegas. Spider, the local bad guy, gives Frank a one-time opportunity to run stolen cigarettes into Mexico. Eddie, who works filling graves at the cemetery, is persuaded by Frank to use his truck for the job. On their way, the truck unexpectedly explodes making the two friends responsible for $250,000 in merchandise.While hiding out from Spider, they come across a newspaper headline of the recently deceased heiress, Crystal Harkness. A new plan is hatched. Frank and Eddie will dig up the deceased heiress, relieve her of her jewelry and pay back Spider. Frank and the reluctant Eddie dig up Crystal only to find that she was buried without her precious stones. After almost being caught in the act by the night watchmen, the two friends flee the cemetery with the Drop Dead Sexy Crystal in tow.
That evening, Frank devises yet another plan. The two will ransom Crystal to her husband, Tom Harkness, the wealthiest man in town. When Frank isn't taken seriously, he is forced to provide ''proof of death'' in the form of a body part from Crystal. While completing the ransom, the two friends stumble across Crystal's true killer in a final all-guns-blazing shootout.
