A young compulsive gambler gets involved with a notorious gangster who is feared throughout the city. He becomes part of the team of runners and goes placing bets with different sports bookies, hoping to make a win for his boss. He falls deeply in love with a young waitress who becomes pregnant, with this distraction he also gambles away his boss' money. Facing the impossible challenges dictated by his employer, he must take the biggest gamble of his life and try to save what is at stake -- the life of his child.
