What the Critics say
Lindsey Bahr Moonlight is a hard act to follow, and while Beale Street might not quite reach the heights of Jenkins' instant classic of a best picture-winner, it is its own kind of marvel, lovely, transcendent, heartbreaking and as smooth as its jazzy soundtrack.
Jim Judy Good all around.
Tomatometer f Beale Street Could Talk honors its source material with a beautifully filmed adaptation that finds director Barry Jenkins further strengthening his visual and narrative craft.
